The deadline for entering the exciting new photographic competition, '24 Hours in Bristol' is midnight this Friday.

Open to anyone with a camera or smart phone, the 24 Hours in Bristol photographic competition, in association with The Royal Photographic Society, Amateur Photographer Magazine and Destination Bristol, will see hundreds of amateur and professional photographers arriving in Bristol this weekend to take part in a marathon photographic event to record a day in the life of the city.

Photographers will have a 24 hour period from midnight on Friday 18th October to midnight Saturday 19th to scour the Bristol in search of winning photo-opportunities.

With over £8,000 of prizes and 100 of the winning images to be exhibited at the magnificent Guildhall Arts Centre in the heart of Bristol's old city from November 16th, the competition is attracting photographers from all over the UK and beyond, including Bristol's twinned city of Hannover, Germany.

On entering the competition, photographers are randomly allocated a one-hour time slot during which they must take at least one photograph, although they can enter additional images taken at any time on 19 October, resulting in a fascinating hour by hour timeline of Bristol at work, rest and play.

The Guildhall Arts Centre will be open throughout the 24 hours of the competition as a base  for registered photographers, with refreshments, battery charging, visitor information, sponsor displays, the London Camera Exchange demonstrating the latest photographic products, advice from the Royal Photographic Society and even a team of masseurs from the Bristol College of Massage and Bodywork at hand to revive weary photographers!

The competition prizes have been sponsored by a range of companies including Wards Solicitors, Andrews Estate Agents, the Hotel du Vin & Bistro, the Royal Photographic Society, The Bristol Magazine, City of Bristol College and The Elizabeth and Gordon Bloor Charitable Trust, with Destination Bristol offering the front cover of the 2014 Bristol Visitor's Guide for their favourite competition photograph.  City Sightseeing Bristol is offering free open-top bus tours for registered photographers on competition day and are sponsoring the third prize of £500, with the London Camera Exchange sponsoring the £1,000 second prize.

LCE Marketing Manager Adrian Deary said “London Camera Exchange are very pleased to be an official sponsor for this unique and innovate photographic competition in the vibrant city of Bristol. With two branches in the city centre, LCE are ideally placed to be part of this special event."
