Stanfords, the iconic map and travel bookshop, has announced a new personalised mapping service in its recently refurbished Bristol store in the Old City.
The new service allows customers to have a map produced specifically for them, immediately. Using revolutionary technology, customers can opt to put their home, or any other location, right in the middle of their map. This service can apply to a whole range of map products, including Ordnance Survey, and can come in a number of different sizes; the scale may also be altered from a standard printed map. Additionally, Stanfords offers a popular framing service for the maps.
Caroline Bowler, manager for the store said: “We love maps at Stanfords, as our customers do, and introducing this service allows the user to customise their maps, in whichever way suits them. I’m sure we’ve all had the experience of finding one’s home, or destination, right on the edge of a map. But with “site-centred” mapping, you can put your house literally in the centre. We really are helping put our customers on the map! We had a similar service here years ago, and it proved really popular, so we’re delighted to have it back, now with new features.”
As well as UK maps, Stanfords also provides bespoke mapping for the US, Canada and Europe, amongst others, and will shortly introduce even more personalised map products. The shop has also just introduced a new range of furniture and gifts perfect for the traveller, and has extended its book, map and accessory range.
Stanfords Bristol is open from 9am to 6pm Monday to Saturday, and 11am to 5pm on Sundays. Customers can ‘phone with enquiries, about maps, travel books or accessories on 0117 929 9966, or email the store on Bristol@stanfords.co.uk.
